She wasn't beamed aboard the saucer; she was vapourised rather like the melting German in <i>Raiders</i>. I noticed Cate Blanchett's English accent coming through especially in the beginning - listen to those rounded <i>o</i>'s - but that's legitimate as I wrote <a href="http://haloscan.com/comments/serge/3020646980899066107/#593801" rel="nofollow">here</a>. There are Russians who sound like that! Somebody like Irina Spalko would have learnt English based on a British model. She was gorgeous. And I think it was set up in the beginning that Indy wouldn’t romance/sleep with her as we find out immediately that she’s working for the other side. Is she dead or not? Well, her body died and her mind/soul was absorved by the black hole. I like the idea that she is no really dead and that her mind can be transmited to a new body or her body can be cloned or something (my!
